The winner will be announced on October 15th, 2009. Alaska Zipline Adventures' staff members are not eligible to win.

A lot of new things are happening at Alaska Zipline right now. If you haven’t noticed, we have a new website, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. We would love to hear your feedback. Inguna over at Ante Meridiem Design is wonderful. We highly recommend her work. Check out their website.
We also have some new things happening at our downtown Go Green store on Franklin Street in Juneau. We are really excited to partner with Jeremy and Tyler from our local climbing gym: www.rockdump.com to bring you some great merchandise this summer. They will be bringing all of their prAna and Mission Playground clothing to our downtown office soon (check out some of their stuff on their website to get a feel for their merchandise: www.balanceclimbing.com. We will be open beginning on April 29th. We will also sell the Zipline Tours and several other local tours from our downtown office. Stop by for a visit!!
First Week

Our 2010 season kicked off almost a week ago now. It’s been a great week full of sunshine, smiles, and zipping! It looks like it’s going to be an awesome summer! We hope to see you out on the lines!

The 2010 Zipline Season has begun! Tours started yesterday, May 4th. The gear is unpacked, the spruce tip tea is brewing, and the lines are buzzing with zippers! We’re looking forward to a great summer!
A Timely Global Mosaic

Friends of the Flags

The 50 state flags have been installed on the light posts along Egan Drive again. Every spring for the past 33 years, Friends of the Flags has put them up. They fly for the summer and are taken down in the fall. Thanks to all the volunteers who keep this project running!

Starting next summer, three new cruise lines will start bringing ships to Alaska. Oceania Cruises has just announced that they will have a ship visiting Alaska next year. The join Disney Cruise Lines and Crystal Cruises as the new faces in town.
Training

The staff has been out on the zipline all weekend doing guide training! They are practicing their skills and getting ready to lead tours through our course! That means… it’s almost time to start zipping!
Alaska Dog Honored

Buddy, an Alaska dog was honored on Friday for leading state troopers to a fire. A fire broke out at his owner’s workshop and Buddy rushed off. State Troopers were responding to a call about the fire, but were lost. Buddy encountered the patrol car and led them back to the property. For his heroic efforts, Buddy received an engraved stainless steel water dish and a large rawhide.
Earth Day

Earth Day is observed on April 22 every year. The first Earth Day was observed in 1970! It’s a day for people to appreciate the Earth’s environment and it’s also meant to inspire awareness about environmental issues. It’s currently celebrated in over 175 countries!
Hot in Fairbanks!

This weekend, Fairbanks was the warmest place in Alaska! The temperature got up to 63 on Saturday. It was hot, but not quite record breaking. The record high is 68, from 1999.
